NZMA Notes The Passing Of Sir Randal Elliott
The New Zealand Medical Association (NZMA) notes with deep regret the passing of Sir Randal Elliott, KBE, MB ChB (NZ) 1947, RCS&P DO 1949, FRCS (Oph) Eng 1953, FRACS (Oph) 1953, FNZMA 1976, FRACO 1982.
During his long career, which commenced with his graduation from Otago Medical School in 1947, he was recognised as one of New Zealand’s most distinguished doctors.
Sir Randal was acknowledged as a prominent leader in health circles, and held the highest offices within the NZMA, being chairman in 1971 – 72, and President in 1977, which was the year he received his knighthood.
