Can I book travel using Membership Rewards points8?
Using Membership Rewards points is a great way to travel. You can access all the services of a travel agency as well as booking flights. You don’t need to be part of a frequent flyer programme, and there are no blackout dates or seat restrictions. And if you don’t quite have the points balance you need, by choosing a combination of points plus payment 9 on your American Express Card, you can use this service anytime.

How can I redeem Membership Rewards points?
Redeeming Membership Rewards points is easy. Redeem for merchandise rewards and shopping vouchers by logging on to www.americanexpress.co.nz/rewards or calling 0800 44 22 08 (option 1). To book travel using points, call 0800 44 22 08 (option 2) or visit your local Harvey World Travel store.

What is a Supplementary Card?
Supplementary Cards allow you to extend the benefits of your Credit Card to people close to you, such as your partner, children (over 18 years of age) or parents. A Supplementary Card carries the individual's name, but charges will be billed to your Card Account under that name. Membership Rewards points earned with a Supplementary Card will be credited to you.

What is an Additional Card?
An Additional Card can help make managing your expenses a breeze. For example, use your main Card for personal purchasing and your Additional Card for household expenditure. At the end of the month, your expenditure is separated for quick reconciliation.

What are my payment options?
You can pay your NZMA Card Account by Direct Debit, which will automatically debit your nominated bank account.

Other options include: telephone or internet banking, payment by cheque or cash through any New Zealand Post Shop and payment by cheque through mail.  Effective from 1 January 2010, a fee of NZD$1.80 will be introduced for all American Express New Zealand statements that are paid in person at an NZ Post Outlet.

Points to Note
1. Enrolment and participation in the American Express Membership Rewards Programme is subject to the Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions and partner terms and conditions. An annual $50 Membership Rewards fee applies. Only purchases are eligible for Membership Rewards points. Membership Rewards points do not expire while your Account is in good standing. A fee may be applicable for participation in partner airline programmes. A transfer fee of $35 per transfer of points to one of our airline partner programmes will apply. Platinum Card members receive automatic and complimentary enrolment in Membership Rewards and you will earn 2 Membership Rewards points for every $1 you spend on your Card.

2. American Express credit approval criteria applies, subject to terms and conditions.

3. An annual $99 Turbo fee applies and is in addition to any transfer and Card fees that may apply. You will earn 2 Membership Rewards points for every $1 you spend on your Card.

4. All interest rates are quoted as an annual percentage rate applies to Purchases and all other Charges and are correct as at 20th April 2009. Rates are subject to change.

5. The Credit Card gives you up to 55 days interest free on purchases, depending on when your statement is issued, whether you have made a balance transfer and whether you are carrying forward a balance on your account from a previous statement period.

6. No pre-set spending limit does not mean unlimited spending. Your purchases are approved based on a variety of factors, including current spending patterns, your payment history, credit record and financial resources known to us.

7. Depending upon when you make a purchase, when your statement is issued and whether or not you are carrying forward a balance on your account from your previous statement period. Balances must be paid in full each statement month. There are no credit free days on Cash Advances or Express Cash

8. Membership Rewards direct ticket terms and conditions apply.

9. When using the ‘Points+Pay’ option you must redeem a minimum of 10,000 points or your total points balance, whichever is lower.
