We are seeking a medical practitioner, interested in meeting the challenges of Rural and Remote Medical Education, to join a dynamic medical school whose teaching and research activities are rapidly evolving.

The JCU School of Medicine and Dentistry, the first in a wave of new Australian Medical Schools, was established in 2000 with the first cohort of graduates qualifying in 2005. As Australia's only medical school located in the tropics we are committed to the advancement of medical education and research relevant to the communities of northern Australia and countries in the region. The School has developed an innovative and integrated medical curriculum with a strong focus on remote, rural and Indigenous health.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your clinical and teaching skills to develop the General Practice and Rural Medicine syllabus, contribute to the development of research programs, and provide management and leadership of General Practice and Rural Medicine within the School.

Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time on a continuing basis subject to a probationary period.

Salary: Associate Professor - Academic Level D - A$102,041 - A$112,254 per annum. Commencing salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience.
This position may attract a Clinical Loading of up to $25,000 per annum pro rata, paid to staff who are registered medical practitioners in Queensland. Benefits include generous employer superannuation contribution and attractive options for salary packaging.
