We require Doctors with experience in Emergency Medicine - Specialists and Non-Specialists, to join a progressive Emergency Medicine team at North Shore and Waitakere Hospital Emergency Departments.

Waitemata District Health Board is the largest District Health Board in the country serving a population in excess of 500,000. The two Departments have in excess of 70,000 attendances per annum of high acuity.

This rapidly growing team of dynamic Emergency Medicine professionals has a total of 53 Doctors providing 24/7 Specialist cover across the two hospitals.

We provide a comprehensive teaching programme for Trainees and CME for Specialists. The North Shore Hospital Emergency Department is a part of the Auckland Regional Emergency Medicine Training Programme and we have a dedicated Specialist to foster research in Emergency Medicine.

The Hospital Board in conjunction with the Ministry of Health is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of Patient Journey through the Emergency Department.

A new, purpose-built Emergency Department is planned to open at North Shore Hospital in early 2011. This will have state of the art facilities and innovative processes.
