Director of Mental Health Services

Senior Mental Health Service leadership and management opportunity in Auckland City.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a focused and motivated clinician in this new role. The Director of Mental Health Services will be part of a team responsible for the strategic development and operational management of mental health services, directly supporting ADHB’s strategic goal of Lifting the Health of Aucklanders (population 400,000) and the Health 2020 Strategy.

The role spans the service continuum from primary and community based services to advanced tertiary inpatient care with emphasis on their integration. A crucial responsibility is for clinical quality and professional governance in mental health services. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will partner the General Manager Clinical Services (Mental Health), Nurse Leader Mental Health and the Chief Planning and Funding Officer.

You will be a practising psychiatrist, vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold a current practicing certificate. If you have proven success in a clinical leadership role, can articulate an intimate knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand health sector, as well as mental health strategy formulation and implementation; and be acknowledged for setting high ethical and professional standards, then this is the opportunity for you.
