Neonatologist (Fixed-term) Newborn Services at National Women's Health are looking for a locum Neonatologist. The desired locum term is 6 – 12 months, with a proposed commencement date in late 2008 although these are negotiable by mutual agreement. You will be joining a team of committed Neonatologists, covering a 46 cot (16 Level 3, 30 Level 2) neonatal unit. The population of infants serviced is largely perinatal, but the NICU provides a regional neonatal surgical service and also provides immediate neonatal care for infants who will be under the care of the National Paediatric Cardiology service. Clinical duties in the six month term would include two months of daytime responsibilities in the Level 3 unit, and one month of daytime responsibilities in the Level 2 unit. You would participate in a 1:6 after-hours on call roster. Non-clinical duties will include undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, a light outpatient clinic load, and involvement in departmental research. You must be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
