New Zealand Medical Association

NZMA Code of Ethics

The New Zealand Medical Association has traditionally undertaken the task of providing a Code of Ethics for the medical profession. All NZMA members must agree to comply with the Code. The Code lays down principles of ethical behaviour, applicable to all doctors including those who may not be engaged directly in clinical practice. It also includes recommendations for ethical practice.

The updated Code was approved on 27 March, 2002.

This year the Code of Ethics has been revised and updated. Feedback is sought from all interested people and organisations, by 16 November 2007. Please send all feedback to lucille@nzma.org.nz.
